Despite their existing rights, David Dubinsky's presidency of the ILGWU and local political roles brought about new programs which were significant in the process of gaining more rights for union members.
There is a main idea and an arguable point, but I agree with Mya that your arguable point can be more explicitly expressed. Research is needed to show examples of the new programs as well as their effect on the fight for more rights for union memebers.
The thesis statement is clear, arguable, and has only one main idea. There would be research necessary to prove her point.
